Photo Mojo: Online Visual Marketing for Bridal Businesses - 2 of 3
Just joining me? I'm in the middle of an extended blog series in honor of the juiciest trend to sweep the bridal industry: visual marketing. While there are 5 powerful types of visual media I'll be covering in this series, we're kicking it off with the mother ship...the one ring to rule them all...the big kahuna: photos.
[In case you missed it, here's Part 1 of "Photo Mojo"]
These days, images are often more compelling than words. Smart bridal-preneurs, let their best work do the selling for them and get out of the way. Make sure your portfolio appears in all the right places and let your talents do the talking.
Here's #2 of my 3 simple tips for how to get more visibility with your product and portfolio photos online.
Get Credit for Your Images
Don't underestimate the power of authorship.
No matter how many times your original photos are shared online, unless someone wants to take the time to Photoshop it (illegal and unlikely), a good watermark will stick with it along the way. So before you publish your photos, add your website address to the bottom of the photo like a caption embedded right into the image file itself to give yourself credit, allowing anyone who finds it to trace it back to the original source.
The author gets the quote, the feature and the bride...unless, of course, the author can't be found.
Trust me, the press will thank you. They are looking for fabulous work to feature and love when there's an easy and direct path back to the source. Less work, more stories. Win, win.
